Holy Trinity Church is at the heart of the village, and at the heart of the church is our life of prayer and worship, communicating with God. We pray daily for the people and communities within the seven villages covered by the Barrow and Wolds Group of Churches. This rhythm of prayer underpins all we do and is especially important at Christmas when we remember Jesus coming to live amongst the people of this world.

Prayer has been especially important as we have continued to live through troubled times and with much fear, uncertainty and difficulty. But we remember that Jesus was born in uncertain times and know that in our prayers he is with us now sharing in these difficult times with us.

“The time came for her to deliver her child and she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.”

(Luke 2:6-7)

Loving God,
bless this festival,
all who will come,
all who make it possible,
all who will benefit,
and as each tree is ablaze with many lights,
so may your light fill us with love this Christmas

Amen.
